Dr. Doug Bookman has been a much loved seminary professor for over 40 years. But his favorite classroom is the land of Israel. For the last 25 years he has built a ministry centered around teaching the Biblical narrative in the places where they happened..

Dr. Bookman is currently Professor of Old/New Testament and Exposition at Shepherds Theological Seminary. He leads a yearly trip to Israel for seminary students and his love for the land has made him an important contributor to Shepherds’ Department of Archeology where he functions as a field geographer of sorts, connecting the biblical text to the routes and regions of the land, and explaining how the land and text work together to tell the full narrative of Scripture.

Dr. Bookman and his wife, Diane, have three children and twelve grandchildren.
